Gordon Crockard interview lined up for Polesworth programme

The official raceday programme for the second round of the Maxxis British Motocross Championships at Polesworth will feature an exclusive interview with former number one Gordon Crockard who is attempting a personal fight-back to form after missing most of 2004 through a knee ligament injury.
Crockard reflects on the misfortune he has suffered with physical setbacks since 2001 when he comprehensively beat Mickael Pichon in two 250cc GPs and was fighting for the World Championship. He also comments on the switch to riding for Yamaha. Here is an excerpt from the article:

Q: How do you feel about moving from CAS for the second time and how is it different to your new team?

GC: CAS is Harry Ainsworth’s hobby. Steve Dixon runs his team as a livelihood and a business. I think those two approaches and attitudes create different environments. With Yamaha we have the Rinaldi connection with all their engine expertise and also the help of Ohlins with suspension so it is a very good and professional set-up. People always make the connection with me and CAS but when I returned there after KTM in 2003 it was because I wanted a UK based team and the best bike. CAS had changed a lot. They had Josh and Yoshi onboard so it was not like I was going back to the same team that I had in 2001. I wanted to ride a 450 Honda and the fact that CAS were past employers and we had some happy memories was just a co-incidence. Deeply analysing the team can be mostly irrelevant. It is about the bike and getting around the track, at the end of the day it is just the two of you.

Round two of the 2005 Championship takes place on Easter Sunday and the track can easily be found near Tamworth from junction 10 off the M42. The programme will cost £3.
